Community Awareness programs bring together youth/youth leaders, parents, community leaders, community stakeholders and politicians to discuss issues concerning youth in the community. We ensure that youth have an opportunity to make their voice heard in the community especially issues concerning them.
With our experience implementing crime prevention programs, we have established sound relationships with other stakeholders in the community. Youth at risk and facing the criminal justice system become YNOT clients through referrals.
We work closely with the Toronto Bail Program, Toronto Police 31 Division, Peel Regional Police. Youth are referred to us by The African Canadian Legal Clinic, The Griffin Centre, The Association of Youth Peel, Peacebuilders International (Canada), Toronto Children’s Aid Society, Toronto Catholic School Board, OPP and more.
A representative from YNOT attends court to encourage these troubled youth to join our programs and to allow us to advocate for them. We have established excellent relationships with Toronto Community Housing, Children’s Aid Societies and other social services agencies.
